    The LavaPort-650 gives ultra high-speed transfer rates when connecting serial peripherals to a PC. The LavaPort-650's 460.8 kbps transfer rate is four times faster than typical motherboard serial ports. The ultra high-speed throughput greatly improves communication between a PC and various serial peripherals such as ISDN modems, digital cameras, etc. The LavaPort-650 uses the 16650 UART, which has a 32-byte FIFO buffer that allows the CPU to send and receive bursts of data from the port without overrun errors. The 16650 UART also has highly efficient interrupt handling, eliminating communication bottlenecks and resulting in smooth, uninterrupted data flow. The LavaPort-650 automatically selects a free address and IRQ during installation, virtually eliminating user error and resource conflicts.
